Mastery roadmap

A four-year path with daily practice, weekly study, and real specialization.

This page is now designed as an actual progression map. Nodes unlock only when their prerequisites are complete, the connections explain why the order exists, and the side panel tells you what each step prepares you to understand next.

UI opportunities

What to improve next, in order

The site already has strong individual pages. The work now is to make the dense ones feel intentional, reduce competing visual patterns, and keep the learning path obvious everywhere.

Phase 1

Clarify hierarchy

Reduce visual competition by limiting each section to one primary action, one supporting action, and one note.

  • Use shorter section intros and tighter max widths on dense pages.
  • Promote one obvious next step instead of several equivalent buttons.
  • Keep contextual help as secondary, not equally weighted, content.
Phase 2

Standardize density

Make cards, callouts, and side panels feel like one system rather than separate designs.

  • Align spacing, padding, and heading sizes across the reference and roadmap pages.
  • Use softer backgrounds for supporting content and reserve stronger surfaces for primary paths.
  • Limit multi-column layouts to content that truly benefits from comparison.
Phase 3

Polish interaction

Improve the parts that change state so they feel deliberate, not crowded.

  • Make empty, locked, and completed states visually distinct without adding extra chrome.
  • Improve focus and hover states on tabs, chips, and action buttons.
  • Keep sticky details panels readable by trimming internal clutter and increasing whitespace.

Interactive flow

A real unlock path with progress and dependencies

Select a node to see why it exists, what it unlocks, and what cadence fits it. Mark a node complete to unlock the next layer. Progress is stored locally in your browser.

Progress

How to use the roadmap over years

The flow is the map, but the cadence is what turns it into mastery. Use the lighter nodes for momentum and the denser nodes for deeper seasons of study.

Daily

20 to 45 minutes. Read or listen, write one note, and finish one small action tied to the current unlocked node.

Weekly

2 to 4 hours. Complete one substantial study block, one review session, and one context or theology add-on.

Quarterly

Choose one branch to push deeper, then return to the main path so progress stays connected instead of fragmented.

Mastery model

What the branches are trying to build

The map starts with Jesus, then expands outward into canon, translation, traditions, context, apologetics, and finally teaching and integration.

Core path

John, the Gospels, Acts, canon, translations, and the Bible’s overall storyline.

Addendum unlocks

Christian traditions, historical context, Greek and Latin tools, and apologetics open after the base story is stable.

End state

You can explain Jesus clearly, place books in the story, compare traditions and translations responsibly, and teach others.

Daily assignment

Pick one reading, one listening, one note, and one action.

That keeps the roadmap grounded. Over time, the accumulation of simple reps becomes real mastery.
