1. Arrival: The Shattered Verge
A ruined threshold zone where the player wakes up disoriented and learns basic movement, camera, interaction, and the first Observe & Describe moment.
Escaflowne-inspired mirror-world RPG
A single-player narrative RPG about being pulled into Glimmerfall, an emotional mirror world where skillful presence, compassionate connection, and quiet courage are the path home.
These are the intended story areas and mechanic ramps. Each region introduces one new DBT idea through play, then folds it into later systems so the player learns by doing.
A ruined threshold zone where the player wakes up disoriented and learns basic movement, camera, interaction, and the first Observe & Describe moment.
A safer travel route with companion encounters and dialogue choices that teach validation, grounding, and low-pressure trust building.
A distressed landscape that changes with mood state. This area introduces distress tolerance, body-based reset actions, and simple environmental hazard pressure.
A crowded, socially dense hub where interpersonal effectiveness matters. DEAR MAN choices shape access, prices, and faction reactions.
A reflective midgame zone focused on emotion regulation, opposite action, and choosing calm under symbolic pressure.
The first major combat space where emotional battles become tactical weaving fights and the player learns to absorb, stabilize, and redirect force rather than overwhelm it.
A late-game area where acceptance and change are both required. The player sees the world regain life, but only if prior relationships and balance states were maintained.
The final ascent where all mechanics recombine. The ending changes based on emotional balance, relationship repair, and whether the player chose avoidance or integration.
The player arrives in Glimmerfall as an emotionally dysregulated outsider and learns to move through chaos by observing, naming, regulating, and reconnecting. The DBT material is present in the mechanics, not presented as therapy homework.
Every skill should emerge through a dramatic moment, not a tutorial prompt.
Visuals, music, and world state should clearly reflect the protagonist’s inner weather.
Choices should reward both acceptance and change rather than forcing a single “correct” answer.
Different starting profiles, relationship paths, and balance states should change the journey.
These are the core character and sprite assets to generate. Keep the shapes readable at a glance, with anime-inspired silhouettes and atmospheric lighting. Treat them as original Glimmerfall characters, not direct copies of any existing series.
Young adult lead with expressive eyes, travel-worn clothes, and a subtle aura shift by mood state.
Calm, protective ally with steady posture and warm color accents; speaks in direct, validating lines.
Sharper, more playful ally with fast body language and a visible “think first” energy.
Soft-spoken, enigmatic figure tied to the mirror-world lore and the emotional geography of Glimmerfall.
Grounded, skeptical party member with guarded posture and dry expressions that soften over time.
Optional guide figure with ceremonial clothing, lantern motifs, and a presence that feels ancient but kind.
Enemy family with jagged, elegant shapes that suggest weather, grief, static, and broken reflection.
Simple villagers, scholars, and guards with small pose variations to populate the overworld.
This project is DBT-inspired and meant to be emotionally supportive in tone, but it is not therapy and should never present itself as a substitute for professional care.
